No Steam!
The most important principle of the Showerdome is the fact that there is
NO STEAM in the shower when the water is running (or at any other time).
This phenomenon is very easy to understand but remains the one aspect of skepticism for people when considering a Showerdome to solve their bathroom moisture problems.
Shower steam does not flow from the shower rose nor is it an element of hot water. Steam, or more correctly, visible moisture, is the result of warm air meeting cool air.
It is observed naturally in many instances – clouds in sky are formed when warm air rises to meet cooler air above – breathing on a cold winters morning causes warm breath to meet the cold air – boiling a kettle results in hot air exiting the spout and mixing with cooler air in the room.
This simple scientific principle is the basis of the ‘Showerdomes’ performance. The dome creates a barrier between the two air masses stopping them mixing together. If the warm and cool air never meets then visible moisture in the bathroom never forms. If there is no moisture in the air, it cannot condense on cooler surfaces to result in mould, mildew and dampness.
Placing a dome on your shower does NOT result in it becoming a sauna full of steam. There is NO steam.
You enjoy a warm cosy totally clear shower without drafts and no steam is formed to mist up your mirror or dampen your home.
